Posturing means to “behave in a way that is intended to impress or mislead others”35

Question: Please confirm.

God’s answer:

You can’t fool Me.

Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows, because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit. (Galatians 6:7)

Question: God we’re sort of getting far from our original discussion. You said that those of the old ways shall be the last, and this old way is the concept of reward and punishment, Why is one who is of the old way a rich man when you yourself said that good deeds matter... and isn’t this what the reward and punishment concept espouse – to do good and be good?,

God’s answer:

Self-serving

Question: Meaning one does good deeds not of sincerity but in the hopes of being rewarded or avoiding punishment? This is why the old way is the way of the rich man?

God’s answer:

“[But] take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites* do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. (Matthew 6:1-6)

They toot their own horn. They like to advertise.
They pat themselves on the back.

To show this, God goes back to what the rich young man said:

Now someone approached him and said, “Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?”* He answered him, “Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good.

If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He asked him, “Which ones?” And Jesus replied, “ ‘You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother’; and ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

The young man said to him, “All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?”

The man was boasting. And, the young man walked away sad because he realized he didn’t have what it takes to enter Heaven. I put him down. He wasn’t good enough. He was humbled.
